BEACH DAYS & BIG ADVENTURES | The beach is one of my favorite places to practice the Basic, Explore Through Movement and Play. It’s full of opportunities for Titus to move, create, and discover, all while having the best time.
One of his favorite things to do is build sandcastles. Digging, scooping, packing, and shaping the sand sparks his creativity while helping him build problem-solving and fine motor skills. We talk about why wet sand sticks together better than dry sand and test our ideas as we build. It’s amazing how much learning happens without either of us even realizing it.
Playing in the ocean is just as much fun. Titus loves running from the waves, jumping over them, and splashing in the water. Every wave is different, giving him the chance to practice balance, coordination, confidence, and adaptability while exploring the world around him.
The best part is that none of it feels like learning. We’re simply enjoying time together. Whether we’re building the biggest sandcastle on the beach or laughing as we chase the next wave, every beach day reminds me that some of the best learning happens when he is free to move, explore, play, and just be a kid.
